The Walking Dead, which premiered on (October 31, 2010), is a horror television series produced by AMC, inspired by the comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman. The narrative follows a group of survivors navigating a world ravaged by a zombie apocalypse, striving to remain alive amidst the chaos. After encountering the dead, referred to as Walkers, the survivors must collaborate to ensure their continued existence. The series features Rick Grimes in the principal role of a sheriff's deputy. Upon awakening from a coma, he finds himself in a world overrun by Walkers and assumes the role of leader for a group of survivors in Georgia, as they endeavor to endure and defend themselves against the relentless threat of the undead. In the first season, it is revealed that all humans have been affected by a pathogen that transforms them into Walkers. Those who are bitten by a Walker inevitably return from death as one of the dead. AMC conclude with an additional 24 episodes, Which aired between 2021 and 2022.


The series features Rick Grimes in the prominent role of a sheriff's deputy. AMC wrapped up with an additional 24 episodes in Season 11, which premiered in early 2022.[5]

Netflix premiered Season 9 in September 2019, followed by the release of Season 10 in July 2021.[8]

Production delay[edit | edit source]

The production of the 16 episodes in Season 10[8] faced delays attributed to complications arising from the Covid-19 pandemic[9]. Consequently, the premiere of Season 10 was rescheduled for October 4, 2020, on AMC, with the remaining episodes subsequently released on April 4, 2021[8]. Additionally, Season 10 became available on Netflix on July 26, 2021.
